Now this iconic design is available in a lightweight format that trims the knife’s overall weight by more than 25 percent and adds enhanced grip security. The secrets to its remarkable design start with injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle scales. Lighter than G-10, they feature our signature Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern for a high-traction, non-slip grip. They also house a streamlined Compression Lock® mechanism that further reduces the knife’s weight while locking the blade securely open during use.
The business end of the knife showcases a full-flat-ground blade crafted from Carpenter® Technology’s CTS® BD1N, a nitrogen-enriched stainless steel that offers an excellent balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. The blade also includes a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for quick, ambidextrous one-handed opening and a textured index-finger choil (finger groove) and thumb ramp for precise control during precise cutting chores.
